Modular Toy House and the benefits of Small World Play

There are seemingly no boundaries to a child’s imagination.
Their ability to take simple objects and create magnificent and extraordinary scenes and stories is endless.
Often based around a theme or storyline, play scenes are played out with the aid of scenery such as our Mini Toy House and small figures or objects.

Small World Play gives children an opportunity to process their ever-changing world and process all manner of experiences.

Everyday objects are transformed into the most fascinating of creations.  An open book turns into a house and a cotton reel turns into ice cream!

By adding some inspiration into the mix, such as our Modular Toy House for toddlers or our smaller Mini Toy House, we add additional sensory layers to the stories and help develop and focus the storytelling experience.

Small World Play for developing Personal, Social and Emotional Skills

While playing in a small world play setting, children have the opportunity to emplote their emotions and interactions with friends and family in a world that follows their rules.  It also gives them the chance to understand why rules are in place, even though they may not agree with them.

Small World Play gives ownership and indirectly, a sense of responsibility.  It also enables children to explore how games and rules change when playing with others as well as the conflict resolution opportunity this provides.

Numeracy and Literacy

Developing the skills required to structure a story and also the ability to relay the story is valuable in developing literacy skills.
Alongside this, numeracy can be integrated into the environment.
